As National Nonprofit Day approaches on Saturday, August 17, we take a moment to celebrate the incredible work that nonprofits do in our communities and reflect on how we can all contribute to their efforts. At New Resources Consulting (NRC), giving back to our community is at the heart of our values, and we’re proud to partner with organizations that make a difference in the lives of those in need.
This year, as students across the United States prepare to return to school, many families face the challenge of obtaining necessary school supplies. For the second year, NRC has proudly partnered with the Milwaukee Rescue Mission (https://milmission.org/) and their Cross Trainers Academy (https://milmission.org/programs/cross-trainers-academy/) to help alleviate this burden. The impact of our partnership is significant- it provides educational opportunities to nearly 500 inner-city students, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. With a focus on strong academic achievement, especially in reading and mathematics, the academy equips students with the skills they need to succeed academically and beyond.
It’s heartwarming to see how NRC employees have come together to donate much-needed school supplies. Their collective effort, combined with the support of our NRC Foundation, has resulted in a significant donation that will directly benefit the students of Cross Trainers Academy, ensuring they have the tools they need to start the school year off right.
On this National Nonprofit Day, we encourage everyone to consider donating to a group or organization in their community. Whether it’s a small contribution or a larger effort, every donation makes a positive impact. If you’re interested in supporting Cross Trainers Academy, you can view their supply list and find ways to give on the Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s website at https://milmission.org/ways-to-give/items-of-need/school-supplies/.
Together, we can continue strengthening our communities and supporting organizations that do so much good. Happy National Nonprofit Day from all of us at NRC!
