New Resources Consulting’s specialized services are especially valuable and useful when implementing technology solutions in the healthcare industry. Our talented consultants work as an extension of your team—we learn about the challenges you face and understand how to remedy them. Sandie Selissen, Director of Administrative Applications at Hospital Sisters Health System, recently sat down with NRC to discuss the specific set of challenges HSHS faced and how NRC offered expedient and effective solutions.

1. What was the event or challenge you faced that inspired you to work with NRC?

Our organization has a long history of working with NRC. Before we began working together on a separate project, our corporate office had used NRC for several PeopleSoft projects. When I came on board, I vetted our existing vendors to determine which ones fit our mission and values, and NRC’s services and solutions aligned well with ours.

2. What type of services did NRC provide to your organization?

NRC provides us with Epic consulting resources and smaller staff augmentation projects. An example is a clean-up project for the maintenance of our EMR. When we merge our new acquisitions into our current patient population EMR, there are often duplicates from the merger. These mergers require us to match parameters to help determine that clean-up process. From a consulting services perspective, NRC has become one of our top three PRNs.

3. What benefits did you experience as a result of NRC’s services?

NRC’s competitive pricing and their ability to propose solutions and options to our challenges really set them apart. They have also been consistent in bringing us qualified candidates. Their staff is invested in our success at all levels. When our resources were really stretched thin during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, NRC helped us be creative about how we could effectively manage that transition. They also came up with options for part-time staff, three-quarter staff, and staff who could work overtime during these transitional periods.

4. What advice would you give to a company looking for similar services?

Look for vendors who are more of a partner than a firm that is just an order-filler—someone who is vested in your organizational goals, challenges, and business changes. Look for someone who responds quickly when changes occur.

5. What have you enjoyed most about working with NRC?

Their leadership’s involvement in addressing our needs and their understanding of the sense of purpose that the healthcare industry fulfills. NRC has also been very good at searching out additional detail that may not be readily available on a consultant’s resume but needed for us to determine if they are a good fit for an assignment.

At NRC, we partner with you to create the best-fit solution. Whether it is integrating with existing staff to run a help desk or tackling an ICD-10, ERP Integration, or another large-scale enterprise initiative, we help you achieve your clinical, business, and IT goals through scalable, modular options, including staff augmentation, workforce planning, project-based engagements, and even fully outsourced solutions.
