Christopher Hippensteel Named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List

Chris Hippensteel Named to Milwaukee Business Journal's 40 Under 40 ListNew Resources Consulting is proud to announce that Christopher Hippensteel, Director of Information Technology, has been named to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 list—an annual recognition honoring young professionals who are shaping their organizations and the future economy of Southeast Wisconsin.

Each year, the Milwaukee Business Journal reviews hundreds of nominations to identify more than three dozen standout leaders under the age of 40. Honorees are selected based on the impact they’ve made in their careers, their communities, and across the greater Milwaukee region. The rigorous selection process includes evaluation by the Business Journal’s editorial team, along with insights from past honorees and local business leaders.

At just 37, Hippensteel exemplifies the qualities this program celebrates. As Director of IT at New Resources Consulting, he has strengthened the firm’s technology foundation—ensuring secure, resilient systems that can manage global cyber threats around the clock. His leadership has transformed IT from a behind-the-scenes function into a strategic force that supports growth, reliability, and innovation across the organization. Recently, Hippensteel also launched 404: Limits Not Found, a podcast for people who actually work in IT.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hippensteel is widely recognized for his commitment to community and inclusion. After witnessing the communication barriers his friend faced during the pandemic, he launched community-based American Sign Language workshops that continue to bring people together. He also organizes Beer City Cycle Runs, connecting riders across Wisconsin and Illinois while supporting local businesses and fostering meaningful connections.

“I’m honored to be named one of Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40,” said Hippensteel. “My journey wouldn’t have been possible without the people who believed in me along the way—my uncle Scott Hippensteel, who gave me my first shot in IT; my wife, Dr. Liz Merriman, who constantly pushes me to grow; and New Resources Consulting, who for the past nine years have trusted me to keep our company safe while giving me the space to share my passion for cybersecurity with the world. This recognition is as much theirs as it is mine.”

2026 marks the 34th year the Milwaukee Business Journal has honored emerging leaders through its 40 Under 40 program. Past honorees include prominent figures across business, government, sports, and hospitality—individuals who have shaped Milwaukee’s civic and economic landscape.

The 2026 honorees and their accomplishments will be featured in a forthcoming special edition of the Milwaukee Business Journal and celebrated at an awards presentation on March 11 at Baird Center.

New Resources Consulting congratulates Chris on this well-earned recognition and celebrates the leadership, empathy, and impact he brings to both NRC and the broader Southeast Wisconsin community.
